Straight answers
What we don't promise
The things a straight agency tells you and most don't.
We can't guarantee you'll get named.
Nobody can. Anyone who promises you a spot in an AI answer is guessing or lying — these things change every few weeks and no one controls them.
This is not proven yet, and you would be early.
That a dense group of local businesses shifts what the assistants say is our bet, not yet a finding. What being early does buy you: you are first named in the guide for your trade, you help write the standards it judges by, you pay founding prices, and you get every measurement we take. We publish what comes back either way.
We can't make an assistant recommend a place that isn't good.
The guides print their standards and apply them to members and non-members alike. Sometimes the honest answer is somebody else.
This isn't quick.
The corrections take weeks to work through. Expect to see something shift around month two, and to know properly by month four.
Nothing we do can get you in trouble.
No bought reviews, no invented testimonials, no fake visits, no paid links, and nobody is ever asked to say something nice in exchange for anything. Everything published is true, visible to your customers, and states plainly who is a member. That is not us being saints — it is what keeps your site out of Google's penalty box and your name out of the paper.
Who this is for
If your customers walk to you, this is for you.
If you are never going to outbid a chain on advertising, this is the one place where that stops mattering.
Questions
Will this mess with my website?
One page gets added, off your menu, on your own domain. Your homepage, your design and everything you already have stay exactly as they are.
Is this allowed?
Yes. Everything we put up is true, anyone can read it, and it says plainly that you're a paying member. We follow Google's rules on spam and the FTC's rules on disclosure. No hidden text, no fake reviews, no paid links.
Isn't this just a link swap?
No, and it's the thing we're strictest about. Nobody gets anything in return for a link, a rating or a review. A recommendation has to be about a real working relationship, and if you don't rate someone you don't recommend them. Swapping links for the sake of it is exactly what gets sites penalized — which is why it's built this way.
What if I'm not the best on my street?
Then the guide won't say you are. You still get the corrections, the page, your entry and the check — plus a straight list of what the better-rated places do differently.
Do I have to say nice things about other businesses?
You have to take part. You never have to be positive, and nothing — price, placement, anything — depends on you being nice about anyone.
Can I leave?
Yes. The page comes down and the corrections stay corrected.
Who's behind it?
Cone Red, a technology company. We built the measuring part first and ran it on ourselves before we tried to sell it — that result is on this page, and it is a zero.
Why we do it
The best place on most streets is a small one.
The bakery where they start your order when you walk in. The mechanic who tells you it's fine and charges you nothing. The dentist who calls you back himself.
None of them have a marketing department, and for twenty years that meant losing to whoever did. Everyone knows the good places. The internet just never did.
This is the first time in a long while when being genuinely good at something counts for more than a budget — but only if what you're good at is written down somewhere a machine can find it. Nobody is going to do that for the corner shop. That's the whole job. That's why we built this.
